Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai evoked curiousity among cinephiles ever since it was officially announced with Soori playing lead character in it. Film lovers were curious to know how the popular comedian would fit the bill in the movie which is based on the short story Thunaivan penned by Jeyamohan.

The project was later announced to be released in two parts; the first installment has hit the screens today and netizens are going berserk over the film. Though the filmmaker has proved his calibre many times in the past, Viduthalai Part 1, according to movie buffs, is a must-watch.

Soori has been garnering appreciation from several quarters for his innovative approach towards acting and the efforts he has put in to portray a sincere cop who sets out to follow his heart. There are a few who have been predicting that the actor is likely to win prestigious awards for his performance.

Bhavani Sre and Vijay Sethupathi's brief appearance have also been lauded by the audience. Many opine that it is the making style of the movie which is sure to impress viewers. The technical aspects like cinematography and music by Ilaiyaraaja have also struck a chord with the audience.  

The much-hyped single shot sequence is said to be another major highlight of Viduthalai. Twitterati is going gaga over the well-choreographed stunt sequence and are unanimously saying that the choreography has met the Hollywood standard.  

Fans of Vetri Maaran and Ilaiyaraaja are expressing eagerness to watch the second installment which is likely to be released later this year. They point out that the brand Vetri has delivered yet another solid entertainer.
