Vignesh Shivan to team up with Pradeep Ranganathan for a film to be bankrolled by THIS actor-filmmaker?

Director Vignesh Shivan was on cloud nine when he earned the opportunity to direct Ajith for an untitled project to be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The film was announced a year ago and Anirudh was roped in to compose music for the movie which was tentatively titled AK 62.

It was expected to go on floors earlier this year after the release of the star's Thunivu. However, the filmmaker was ousted from the project due to reasons best known to the production house. Amid various speculations and suspense-filled status posted by Vignesh on his Instagram page, he was shown the door. 

The dejected director was said to be teaming up with Vijay Sethupathi for the story which he had planned for AK 62. The duo had earlier collaborated for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. But here comes an unexpected twist which is sure to leave cinephiles stunned.

Vignesh is set to join hands with Pradeep Ranganathan who has delivered a super hit with Love Today a few months ago. The latter's popularity soared high after the movie went on to become a huge money spinner at the box office in 2022.

As per sources, the duo's movie will be produced by one and only Kamal Haasan. The Ulaganayagan will bankroll their story under Raaj Kamal Films International. The production house had recently announced Silambarasan's STR 48 with Desingh Periyasamy. Their project, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is set to go on floors soon. 

Film buffs are now eager to know if Vignesh's story for the movie will be the same he had prepared for AK 62. Moreover, the possibility of him teaming up with Ajith in the future is also awaited.
