After much speculation about Tollywood director Vamshi Paidipally teaming up with Vijay for a project, it was officially announced two weeks ago that the duo will team up for a film produced by Dil Raju. Vamshi took to Twitter to share the news with a picture of him, Vijay and Raju.
Tentatively titled Thalapathy66, the cast and crew of the film is yet to be announced, though it is said that Thaman is likely to come on board as its music composer. If everything goes well, this is the first time the musician will be scoring music for a Vijay-starrer.
The latest on the untitled movie is that Prakash Raj will be seen playing an important character in it. The veteran actor and Vijay had shared screen space for the last time in Prabhudeva's Villu which released in 2009. The duo first teamed up for the sensational hit film Ghilli, in which their combination scenes was one of its highlights.
Later, they joined hands in Sivakasi and Pokkiri as well. Prakash was seen talking about his inclusion in the project to a Telugu channel recently which has been doing the rounds on social media. The actor was seen in pivotal roles in Vamshi's earlier films Munna, Brindavanam, Oopiri (Thozha in Tamil) and Maharshi as well.

While the former will have a grand theatrical release, the latter will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Interestingly, he is seen sharing screen space with Rajinikanth and Suriya after two decades and a decade respectively. Padayappa was his last film with the Superstar while he had acted with Suriya for the last time in Singam.
