Director CS Amudhan and Vijay Antony have been working on a crime thriller from sometime. The latter had taken to his Twitter page to announce the project's title yesterday, along with a poster. Titled Ratham, the movie had commenced its shooting a couple of months ago in Chennai.

The makers have now announced that the project stars three female leads, Ramya Nambeesan, Nandita Swetha and Mahima Nambiar. While Ramya had earlier worked with Vijay in the yet-to-be-released Tamilarasan, Mahima and Nandita are joining hands with the music director-turned-actor for the first time.

Mahima and Nandita took to their social media accounts to share the excitement of being associated with the movie. While Nandita shared a couple of pictures of her character from the movie, Mahima tweeted, "Super thrilled to be part of #RATHAM alongside @vijayantony sir.I feel privileged & super duper thrilled for the role (sic)."

However, the team hasn't revealed who among the three will be paired opposite Vijay in the film. According to a report in TOI, the makers have completed the film's first schedule earlier this month, and they are set for its second schedule which will be shot in Kolkata.

After two weeks of shooting there. they are also planning to shoot a few crucial portions in a European country. They are yet to decide on the place, though. Looks like they will take a call on it based on the current COVID-19 restrictions.

Amudhan last directed Shiva-starrer Tamizh Padam 2 (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). Though he shot to fame with his debut movie Thamizh Padam, his second directorial project, Rendavathu Padam, is yet to the see the light of the day. Ramya Nambeesan played one of the female leads in it.
