Actor Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is getting bigger as time goes, with filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar getting every possible star onboard. While the action thriller is expected to hit theatres sometime in 2026, recently actor Vijay Sethupathi confirmed his presence in Jailer 2.

Jailer 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 2023 Tamil film Jailer. The Rajinikanth-starrer is written and directed by filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar. In the latest, actor Vijay Sethupathi revealed that he is playing a cameo in the film.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Vijay Sethupathi took part along with the team of his upcoming film Gandhi Talks. The Viduthalai actor confirmed his presence in Jailer 2. The actor will be doing a cameo role.
During the conversation, Vijay Sethupathi was asked about his stand in doing cameos, to which Vijay Sethupathi confirmed that he has cameo presence in Jailer 2. Saying that it was no brainer to take up that opportunity to work in Rajinikanth film, Vijay Sethupathi said that his love for the superstar has led to make him the choice. He also added that he got to learn a lot from Rajinikanth. It is to be noted that Vijay Sethupathi earlier shared screen space with Rajinikanth in Petta.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is only growing bigger day by day with actors Shah Rukh Khan, Mithun Chakraborthy, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal and others billed to make cameo appearances in the film. Jailer 2 will be continuation of story from the first part; about a retired jailer who reconnects with his past connections after he is embroiled in a problem.

When is Vijay Sethupathi’s Gandhi Talks releasing?
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi will be next seen in Gandhi Talks. It is slated for a theatrical release on January 30. Co-starring Arvind Swamy, Aditi Rao Hydari and others, Gandhi Talks is a silent film and directed by Kishore Belekar. AR Rahman has scored the music. Gandhi Talks has had festival run.
