The Maharaja actor, who has always been a big-time follower of Malayalam films, admitted that he is a huge fan of superstar Mohanlal. Vijay Sethupathi recalled meeting the veteran actor unexpectedly when he was in Mumbai. When the actor realised that the Drishyam star was staying at the same hotel, he met the latter’s team and requested permission to meet his idol. Mohanlal readily agreed to meet Vijay and gladly gave him an autograph. According to the National Award-winner, that is the only autograph he framed and has kept at his Chennai office.
In his chat with the media, Vijay Sethupathi also recalled meeting Mammootty while shooting at Athirapally, Kerala. He immediately asked the team if he could get a picture with the Turbo actor, and the legendary actor agreed. Vijay Sethupathi also revealed he revisited Marumalarchi, the acclaimed Tamil film that featured Mammootty as one of the leads with his kids, a week before meeting the legend. After the duo spent some time together and clicked pictures, the Bramayugam actor thanked the Maharaja actor with a special message, leaving him surprised.
The talented actor, who grew up watching Mammootty and Mohanlal’s films, stated that talking to the legends and receiving their messages is a big deal for him. Vijay Sethupathi, who revealed that he admires the Drishyam actor, added that he is equally fond of Mammootty, who worked in the recent super hit, Turbo. The National award-winner further added that his performances have the influences of all the great actors whom he grew up watching on celluloid.
