Vijay Sethupathi says no to Krithi Shetty as his heroine...HERE's the reason

It looks like Vijay Sethupathi has downright refused to play the leading man opposite Krithi Shetty in his upcoming films, according to reports. The actor revealed in a recent interaction that he discouraged those who had dropped Krithi's name as heroine for his upcoming film.

The Vijay Sethupathi-Krithi Shetty conundrum

In the 2021 Telugu film Uppena, Krithi Shetty and Vijay Sethupathi had shared screen space together. However, Krithi played Sangeetha Bebbamma, daughter of Kotagiri Sesha Raayanam essayed by Vijay Sethupathi. Vijay Sethupathi stated that since he has played her father once, he couldn't romance her. He added that the team of his upcoming film believed that Krithi Shetty would be ideal as VJS's heroine.

Sethupathi stated that once he saw Krithi's picture, he asked the team to avoid her as heroine as he could not play her love interest after portraying her father in a previous venture.

He also recalled the time where Krithi was confused about a scene in the Telugu film. VJS had then advised her that his son was as old as Krithi and that he later encouraged her, just like he would do to his son. He added that he considered Krithi as her daughter and that he doesn't want to romance her.

Vijay Sethupathi soaks in the success of Jawan
The Farzi actor was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. He played the prime antagonist in the film and his work was lauded by everyone. Jawan marked his sophomore film in Bollywood after his debut with Santosh Sivan's Mumbaikar, the remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram. The film marked Atlee's debut in Hindi, along with Nayanthara and Anirudh Ravichander. The rest of the star cast includes Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover to name a few.

A dream debut with Farzi
Before his venture into films, Vijay Sethupathi became a household name after he played a top cop Michael Vedanayagam in Raj and DK's web series Farzi. The show catapulted VJS's fame in the Hindi market and he became a name to reckon with. He is now awaiting the release of Merry Christmas with Katrina Kaif.
