The year 2022 was quite satisfying for Vijay Sethupathi, except for Ponram's cop drama DSP which was released earlier this month. The versatile actor began the year by playing an unconventional role in Kadaisi Vivasayi which was followed by the rom-com Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal which had him acting along Samantha and Nayanthara.

His character of the dreaded drug dealer Santhanam in the blockbuster film Vikram won him praise from several quarters. The family drama Maamanithan and 19(1)(a), the Malayalam social drama, however, couldn't create much impact. His fans have enough reasons to await some of the exciting projects that he is part of in 2023.

The actor has now surprised his fans by posting a new avatar of his from his social media page. The photo which has him sporting a white shirt, a nerd glass and a heartfelt smile has sent his admirers into a tizzy.

It looks like he has lost a few kilos; but we aren't sure if the new look he has sported is to play any role in his ongoing projects. The actor has of late been facing criticism from several quarters for not taking care of his physique, but the latest photo seems to have made critics happy.

Vijay's next release is likely to be Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai in which he plays a crucial character role. Based on a popular novel, the movie is being made in two installments. This will be followed by Micheal in which he will be seen again in the role of an antagonist opposite Sundeep Kishan.

He has a few projects in Hindi lined up. It looks like most of them will be released in 2023. This includes Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, Sriram Raghavan's Merry Christmas and Santhosh Shivan's Mumbaikar.
