Bangladeshi movie critic Mohit Lal Saha said in his recent Facebook post that Thalapathy Vijay's film Leo will be released in Bangladesh. This makes it the second South Indian movie to release in that country after Rajinikanth's blockbuster hit Jailer.

While fans are excitedly gearing up for the release of Leo's trailer, the film has been making headlines for several reasons. All this has given the Tamil community across the world a reason to celebrate.

Bangladesh lifts 50-year-old ban on Indian films

Bangladesh lifted a 50-year-old ban on Indian films in May with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. The ban, which was imposed in 1971 after Bangladesh gained independence from Pakistan, was put in place to protect their local films from competing with Indian movies.

The lifting of the ban was welcomed by both Bangladeshis and Indians. It was a positive development for the Bangladeshi and Indian film industries, indicating a sign of growing cultural ties between the two neighbouring countries.

Leo's poster and trailer release

The eagerly-awaited trailer for Leo is set to be released on October 5. The team had earlier shared its poster for the movie on social media, in which Vijay is seen having a face-off with a hyena.

Apart from Vijay, the film also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Gautam Vasudev Menon, and Sandy. Anirudh Ravichander, who worked with Vijay and Lokesh in Master, is the music composer for Leo.

Kamal Haasan is likely to be part of Leo.

The ‘LCU’ connect

The film is rumoured to be part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe, which includes films like Kamal Haasan's Vikram and Karthi's Kaithi. If Leo is part of the LCU, then there are chances that Vijay, Suriya, Karthi, and Kamal are all part of the LCU franchise.
