It looks like Thalapathy Vijay's latest outing Leo has indeed made heads turn at the box office. The latest we hear is that the action entertainer, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has set a record of sorts.

Leo, the highest grossing Tamil film in the history of Kerala box office?
Gokulam Movies, which distributed the film in Kerala, has dropped a new poster, which claims that Lokesh Kanagaraj's recent outing is the highest grossing Tamil film in the history of Kerala box office. They have also called it a record-breaker. If the box office numbers are to be believed, then it looks like Vijay's Leo has indeed set a milestone.

Lokesh Kanagaraj calls it an experimental film
Lokesh had stated during the promotional interviews that he has managed to defy the patterns in Vijay films. Talking to Galatta Plus, Lokesh had then said that the film will have no punch dialogues, intro song and that the character will behave like a regular person in his 40s. He added that none of Vijay's typical mannerisms in films will be seen in Leo.

Leo marks the comeback of the hit duo of the 2000s, Vijay and Trisha, after a span of 14 long years. Their reunion had piqued the curiosity among fans.

The film, however, opened to mixed reviews and many complained of forced LCU connection. Lokesh later acknowledged the same and said that he would take the feedback into consideration and that he would use them for his upcoming film with Superstar Rajinikanth, Thalaivar 171.

An ensemble cast
The film stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham  Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy Master, Madonna Sebastian and Mathew Thomas to name a few. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Philomin Raj. The film is bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio and The Route.
