Unlike most of the Tamil films, the team of Ponniyin Selvan has been actively promoting the movie. The cast and crew has been indulging in various entertaining activities, leaving film lovers elated. The phenomenal success of the project has now made them excited.

They have all come together now for the screening of the film at the popular Sathyam theatre in Chennai. The makers have released a video of them having a whale of a time in the theatre, posing for photos together and indulging in fun moments. Aishwarya Rai flew down to Chennai along with his daughter, while Jayam Ravi was spotted along with his wife.

Mani Ratnam and Suhasini were also seen among the lead actors of the project. Vikram Prabhu is another actor from the film who was spotted along with the team. Fans were elated to see their favourite actors having a gala time.

Ponniyin Selvan has grossed 200 crores from the box office worldwide and is the highest collecting project for Mani Ratnam and a few other actors in it. The movie is expected to surpass Vikram's I and Aishwarya Rai's Endhiran in a day or two.

Tamil cinephiles are eager to know if the film would emerge as the highest grosser of 2022 by outsmarting the numbers earned by Kamal Haasan's Vikram a few months ago. They are also super glad about Kollywood's performance this year. It is after a few years that the industry is witnessing two huge blockbusters in the span of a few months.

The second installment of Ponniyin Selvan is expected to hit the screens in seven to nine months, as announced by Mani earlier. 2023 is going to be special for film buffs as the much-expected sequel of Kaithi is also likely to release in theatres.
