Director Tamizh's Taanakkaran is having a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar on April 8. Vikram Prabhu thanked the film's cast and crew in the pre-release event which was held the other day. According to him, it was SR Prabhu, one of the producers of the movie, who came up with the story idea for him.

He said, "It was Prabhu who sent me the movie's script. He said there is a tough script and asked me if I wanted to do it. I had prepared myself to be part of a demanding project since then."

All praise for Tamizh, Vikram said that more than the script, it was the former's conviction which made him say yes to the project. He said, "Tamizh came to me and narrated the story effectively. He even acted out many scenes and I could connect to the feelings he wanted to convey through the story."

For Vikram, what was more challenging during the shooting was performing in scorching sunlight in Vellore. He recollected his experience while shooting for his debut movie Kumki, and added that the struggles he faced back then was nothing when compared to the challenges he had during the shooting of Taanakkaran.

"We shot throughout the year for Kumki in several places, including the summer season. But the summer season in Vellore was terrible, and it was completely unexpected. However, we are happy with how the movie has shaped up. We had a great journey. I have always strived to come up with good films and will continue to put in more effort," he said.

Vikram also heaped praises on action choreographer Stunner Sam for the realistic action scenes in the film and art director Thiruman S Ragavan for his immense hard work.
