Vikram unknown fact: Not Vijay Sethupathi, this actor was first choice for Kamal Haasan starrer

Multifaceted star Raghava Lawrence has revealed a piece of unknown information about Vikram, one of the 2022's biggest blockbusters , starring Kamal Haasan. We can't imagine any other actor in the role of Santhanam after watching the performance of Vijay Sethupathi, but he was not director Lokesh Kanagaraj's first choice. 

While talking at an event recently, Lawrence said he would have played Santhanam, if not for scheduling reasons. "I was supposed to play Vijay Sethupathi sir's role in Vikram. But, because of the date issues, I couldn't do it. And Lokesh and I have been talking about working together since. Hopefully, things will work out soon," said Lawrence, who is promoting his latest movie Rudhran .

Lawrence also confirmed that he will be acting in a movie scripted by Lokesh. "Lokesh is writing a story and screenplay. And Rathna Kumar is directing it. We are in talks with Nayanthara (for the female lead). And Lokesh is producing that film," he added. 

Rathna Kumar is a close associate of Lokesh. He's one of the main members of Lokesh's writing team. He co-wrote Vikram and he has also worked on Lokesh's upcoming movie Leo, which stars Tamil superstar Vijay in the lead role. 

In light of the new information, it's intriguing to know how Lawrence would have played Santhanam. 

In Vikram, Sethupathi uniquely played Santhanam. The character was a cold-blooded killer, who was addicted to drugs. Santhanam is the main villain of Vikram. In a drug-induced rage, he kills a cop, forcing Kamal's Vikram to come out of hiding and take on a very powerful drug syndicate. Sethupathi had even enlisted the help of an acting coach to prepare for Santhanam.
