Vikram Vedha has been making waves in the industry since its announcement. The film, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, is an official Hindi version of the Tamil thriller of the same name from 2017, starring Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. Both films are directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, a husband and wife duo.
In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, the filmmaker duo stated that there was no pressure from anyone to create the Hindi film. Pushkar stated, "We know how to make films in a certain way, and we will stick to that only. I hope people don’t think of it as ‘Bollywoodised’ or anything. There has been no pressure from any quarters to do it in a certain way, let’s put it that way.”
He went on to clarify that there was no influence either from producers or distributors to make the film in any specific way, and that no one really had a talk on this with filmmakers.
Gayatri, on the other hand, remarked on the same subject, saying that they came on board to capture the characteristics that drove the popularity of the original film. She said, "They liked the film and they wanted us to make it the way we make it. We have not found any pressure from any side and we have done our best."
At the end of the interview, Pushkar stated that the Hindi film version is far larger than the original. This grants the filmmakers a lot more freedom to experiment. “But other than that, I don’t think there is any push," the filmmaker added.
