The movie directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu will be released on August 31

Cobra, which has been in the making for a while, is finally releasing in theatres on August 31. The Ajay Gnanamuthu directorial was supposed to release on August 11, but the delay in its post-production works made the team postpone their plans by three weeks.
The action thriller is Vikram's first theatrical release in the pandemic era; his film Mahaan, which released earlier this year, had dropped directly on Amazon Prime Video. The 2019 release Kadaram Kondan was the actor's previous outing which hit the screens.
Director Ajay has now taken to his Twitter page to reveal that Cobra has been censored and that the movie has obtained U/A rating. He has also informed us that the film's duration is more than three hours. Cobra has a run time of 3 hours, 3 minutes and 3 seconds.
The revenge thriller which revolves around the life of a genius mathematician has Vikram sporting multiple looks like never before. Fans expect the film to be a huge comeback for him as they believe its storyline has everything required for a true-blue blockbuster. KGF fame Srinidhi Shetty makes her Tamil debut with the project which features Roshan Mathew, Mirnalini Ravi and Meenakshi Govindarajan in key roles.
Former cricketer Irfan Pathan's presence and music by AR Rahman are considered to be other attractions of the movie which will be presented by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies in Tamil Nadu. The film is releasing along with Pa Ranjith's Natchathiram Nagargiradhu on August 31.
The shows for the film are said to begin from as early as 5 am in the morning across Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, Mysskin's Pisasu 2, which was supposed to release on the same day, we hear, is likely to get postponed.
