It looks like the shoot for Chiyaan Vikram's Thangalaan is almost wrapped. There are only 12 days of shoot left, which will begin once Vikram returns to the set. Talking about the same at the audio launch of Maamannan, Pa Ranjith said that they are planning to begin shooting from June 15. Vikram is currently recovering from the injury he suffered on the sets and the director said that he was doing great. The shoot had come to a halt after Vikram's injury.

Ranjith also stated that his next project was Sarpatta 2 with Arya, in which the Kathar Basha Engindra Muthuramalingam actor will return as boxer Kabilan Chelliah. The team also dropped a short poster along with the announcement.

In the meantime, talking about Maamannan, Pa Ranjith stated that he was happy that the audio launch of the film was happening on such a huge scale. "Mari Selvaraj showed me some footage from the movie, and I found it very interesting. We have not seen Vadivelu sir in this avatar before."

Pa Ranjith was also in praise of the audio of the film. Mari Selvaraj made his debut with Pariyerum Perumal, which was bankrolled by Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions.

Thangalaan stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan and Pasupathi in the lead. Malavika in a recent chat with her fans had called the film, the toughest project she has ever done. She had written on her social media handle, " "Hands down the toughest film I’ve ever done in every way possible. Tests your physical, mental and emotional endurance to the maximum! But what an cathartic journey of self-discovery & pushing creative limits it’s been (sic)."

The film's producer KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green had earlier stated that he had big plans for the project and that he wanted to dub it in maximum languages. The digital rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix.
