The title of Tamil star Vikram's upcoming movie, which was temporarily called Chiyaan 62, was revealed on Wednesday, coinciding with his 57th birthday. The project has been titled Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 . Yes, the film is a two-part saga. However, for a change, the filmmakers will first release the second part before part one. In other words, we will watch the sequel before the prequel.

It's rather an unusual thought. Even though splitting a movie into two parts has become a sort of norm for all ambitious movies with a sprawling tale to tell, intentionally reversing the order of the narration seems like a novel attempt.

According to industry sources, director SU Arun Kumar is shooting both parts in a single stretch. He seems to have taken a leaf out of director Mani Ratnam's playbook. Mani Ratnam also shot the two parts of his ambitious movie Ponniyin Selvan in one go and released them at set intervals, without adding extra costs or production delays.

The tale of Veera Dheera Sooran

The teaser of Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 gave more insight into Vikram's mysterious character. The first teaser showed Vikram's character barging into a police station, challenging the authority and the valour of the cops and leaving the premises without a scratch on his body.

The latest teaser is set against the backdrop of the hero's provision store. He seems to be a popular face among the neighbours. So much so that even brandishing a huge rifle will not affect the goodwill he has earned as just another friendly neighbourhood retailer.

The teaser establishes that the hero has a very dark and violent past. Is this Baasha for the millennials?

Director SU Arun Kumar made his debut last year with Chithha. The film garnered positive reviews for dealing with important safety issues facing women and children.
