Viruman fame Aditi Shankar signs her next; joins Sivakarthikeyan, Madonne Ashwin's action flick Maaveran

The announcement of Sivakarthikeyan-starrer action flick Maveeran was made recently. Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu unveiled the teaser video of the movie which will be released in Telugu under the title Mahaveerudu. Madonne Ashwin is at the helm of the project which has gone on floors today.

The director received a National Award for his debut film Mandela (streaming on Netflix) under the categories Best Debut Director and Best Dialogues. This has escalated the hype for Maveeran and fans of Siva are expecting nothing short of a blockbuster from the makers. The project is billed as the actor's ticket to the next level of stardom.

The promo video showcased Siva as an action hero like never before. The rugged look he has sported for the movie already grabbed the attention of movie buffs for its resemblance with Rajinikanth's appearance in Mani Ratnam's iconic film Thalapathi.

Fans of Siva have been curious about the film's cast ever since the announcement video was released. Maverick filmmaker Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar, who is making her debut with Karthi-starrer Viruman, has been roped in as Siva's pair in Maveeran. Though the names of Kiara Advani and a few other actresses were doing the rounds, it looks like finally they decided to cast Aditi as the project's female lead.

Vidhu Ayyanna and Philomin Raj are handling cinematography and editing respectively for the movie which has music composed by Bharath Sankar. Arun Viswa has produced the film under Shanthi Talkies which has action choreography by Phoenix Prabhu.      

Maaveeran is slated for a theatrical release in summer 2023. Though the team hasn't announced release plans, we hear the shooting has kicked off keeping in mind its release in April or May in the next year.
