One of the most-expected Tamil films this year is Muthiah's Viruman, starring Karthi in the lead. Suriya's 2D Entertainment has bankrolled the movie which has Aditi Shankar, daughter of maverick filmmaker Shankar, making her acting debut. The first single from the film, Kanja Poovu Kannala, which was released a couple of months ago, has been an instant chartbuster.
Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the melody track which was loved by his hardcore fans and other music lovers. The team is now set to conduct the film's audio launch at Madurai on August 3. Suriya is expected to grace the event.
This is after a long time that the audio launch of a much-expected Tamil movie is being planned to be held in the temple city. Prakash Raj, Saranya Ponvannan, Karunas and Raj Kiran among others play pivotal characters in the rural flick which is essentially a family drama.
Viruman marks the second collaboration of Karthi and Muthiah after Komban which was released in 2015. Disney+ Hotstar has bagged the digital rights of Viruman a few months ago and it is expected that the film's OTT premiere will happen after a month of its theatrical release.
Viruman was announced as a theatrical release earlier which will hit the screens on August 31. However, it looks like makers are planning to prepone the film's release by almost three weeks. The postponement of Vkram's Cobra and Vishal's Laththi seem to have forced the team to prepone its release.
But an official announcement is still awaited from makers on the same. Viruman is Karthi's release after a hiatus of one-and-a-half years. Last seen in Sulthan, the actor has the most-anticipated Ponniyin Selvan, too, coming up on September 30. Sardar, which is slated for a theatrical release for Deepavail, is another release the actor has this year.
