The teaser of Virunnu, a mystery thriller film starring Kannada actor Arjun Sarja, has been released. Directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam, the film marks Arjun’s fourth Malayalam film after Vandae Maatharam, Jack & Daniel and Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham. Virunnu teaser features Arjun Sarja in thrilling action sequences
Often referred to as ‘Action King’, the teaser of Virunnu promises to highlight Arjun’s impressive skills as an action star in the movie. Baiju Santhosh - who is known for his performance in recent Malayalam films such as RDX: Robert Dony Xavier, Lucifer and Minnal Murali - also appears in the teaser in a gritty look, sharing screen space with Arjun. The film’s mysterious tone is effectively conveyed in the teaser, featuring distressed characters played by Mukesh and Nikki, among others. The teaser also showcases Hareesh Peradi dressed as a priest with a chilling smile.
The film is expected to explore themes of occult rituals and satanic cults, similar to recent films like Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Adam Joan and Kooman, directed by Jeethu Joseph.
During an interview with OTTplay earlier, the director had said that the film is a mystery thriller. He also mentioned the importance of the action scenes in the movie and how having someone like Arjun in the role helped serve the purpose. Scripted by Dinesh Pallath, editing of the film is done by VT Sreejith and music is by Ratheesh Vega.
