The box office performance of Virupaksha has been exceeding expectations ever since it was released a week ago in Telugu states. Debutant Karthik Varma Dandu has directed the movie which stars Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha in lead roles. The movie has been raking in moolah despite new releases like Ponniyin Selvan 2 and Agent.

The horror film revolves around a village where a series of mysterious deaths happen. A temple priest there comes up with a suggestion to stop further unfortunate incidents. However, little did they know that an evil spirit is unleashing its power on the residents in the village as part of taking revenge against them.
The horror elements, engaging screenplay and performances of lead actors have been receiving appreciation from cinephiles. Pushpa fame Sukumar has penned the screenplay for the blockbuster project which has cinematography by Shamdat Sainudeen and editing by Navin Nooli.
B Ajaneesh Loknath has composed music for Virupaksha which stars Sunil, Rajeev Kanakala, Abhinav Gomatam and Brahmaji among others essaying crucial roles in it. The film is now gearing up for its dubbed release in Tamil Nadu. Sai, Samyuktha and Karthik attended a press meet in Chennai earlier today.
While addressing the media, Sai said that he is a T Nagar boy who was brought up in the then Madras. He recollected his school days in Adyar and spoke in Tamil much to the surprise of everyone. He said that the team had put in a lot of hard work to make Virupaksha and requested their support.
"The film is a huge hit in Telugu. We are now bringing it before the audience in Tamil Nadu on May 5. We are looking forward to your response," he said.
