Rathnam runtime revealed, here is how long Vishal and Hari’s film is

Rathnam, the upcoming Tamil film starring Vishal in the lead role, is gearing up for release on April 26, in theatres. The film is directed by Hari and will be enjoying a solo release after Sundar C’s Aranmanai 4 was pushed to May.

The Vishal-starrer is an action drama and quintessential Hari film, which will have commercial and fast-paced screenplay and action blocks featuring an angry young man. The runtime of the film has been revealed as two hours and 36 minutes. The film has received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board.

In Rathnam, Vishal plays the role of henchman who works under an MLA. The film revolves around how the henchman has to be a protector of a girl who is travelling to Vellore in order to attend an interview and subsequently becomes her guardian angel.

Recently, at an event held for the film, Hari disclosed that Rathnam will be an out-and-out action flick and will contain a lot of violent scenes. The upcoming action film is a bilingual film that has been shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

The film also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead, along with Yogi Babu, Samuthirakani, Gautham Menon and others. Rathnam marks Hari’s third film with Vishal after Poojai and Thaamirabharani. With Vishal known for his action films and Hari’s commercial sensibilities, Rathnam is expected to be an out-and-out masala entertainer.

The film has music scored by Pushpa-fame composer Devi Sri Prasad, who earlier worked with Hari on Aaru, Singam and Venghai. M Sukumar serves as the cinematographer, while TS Jay has handled the editing. Hari has also written the dialogues for Rathnam. The film is produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, and Zee Studios. Hari is making a comeback to theatres after one year. The last film of his to hit theatres was Yaanai in 2022.
