Adhik Ravichandran's Mark Antony evoked curiousity among film buffs when he announced that the Vishal-starrer would be a pan Indian project. Later, he roped in SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan and Sunil to play pivotal characters. Ritu Varma essays the female lead in the film which has music by GV Prakash.
Billed as a gangster drama, the makers unveiled its teaser a couple of months ago. The promo video also hinted at the action-packed movie having time travel elements. The teaser raised the expectations on the film, thanks to its unique concept and the presence of lead actors.
Ahead of the teaser release, Vishal thanked Vijay for watching the promo video and posted a few stills with the actor, which stormed the internet. The former also came up with the hashtag #ThalapathyVijayforMarkAntony, leaving fans of both stars excited. The action hero has once again relied on Vijay's stardom to make an important announcement.
He has taken to his Twitter page now to inform us that Mark Antony will hit screens around Vinayagar Chaturthi festival. He tagged SJ Suryah in the tweet and asked, 'Naan Ready Dhaan Varava', the popular line from the chartbuster song from Vijay's Leo.
It is known that Vishal is a self-confessed fan of Vijay. He had also expressed interest in directing the latter a while ago. However, he missed working along with his idol in Leo due to a lack of dates.
S Vinod Kumar has bankrolled Mark Antony under the banner of Mini Studios. Abinandhan Ramanujam and Vijay Velukutty have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the project. The action choreography helmed by Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbarayan, Kanal Kannan and Dinesh Subbarayan is expected to be one highlight of the film.
