Debutant Vinoth Kumar's action drama Laththi was supposed to hit the screens on August 12. The makers had officially announced the news with posters as well. However, owing to reasons best known to the team, they postponed their plans.

There were speculations that the film will release in theatres in September, but the makers were tight-lipped about it. Vishal, who plays the lead in the movie, has now released a video in which he has spoken about the release plan. The team is also gearing up for the pre-release promotional activities which are likely to happen in multiple states.

The actor-producer has revealed that Laththi is finally arriving in movie halls in the third week of December. The makers will kickstart promotions with an event which will be held in Hyderabad on November 13. The teaser and first single of the film will be unveiled at the event.

The exact release date of the movie is also expected to be announced at the event. Laththi has been made as a pan Indian project which will be released in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi, too. Sunainaa plays the female lead in the project which has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The action sequences choreographed by Peter Hein are considered to be the highlights of Laththi. There have been a couple of instances where Vishal suffered injury while shooting for risky scenes. This has escalated the hype surrounding the film.

Rana Productions has bankrolled the movie which will mark Vishal's second outing this year after Veeramae Vaagai Soodum. The film has Vishal playing a police constable who resorts to various unusual ways to save his family from criminals.
