It was announced earlier that Anand Shankar's action film Enemy, starring Vishal and Arya in lead roles, will have a theatrical release on the occasion of Dussehra, on October 14 in Tamil and Telugu. Looks like the makers were concerned about more films choosing the same date, and now they have announced a change in their release plans.
Arya-starrer Aranmanai 3 and Sasikumar-starrer Rajavamsam opted October 14 recently as their release date, apart from a couple of movies premiering on OTT platforms as well. For the last few days, there were speculation that there are chances of major changes happening with regard to the release schedules of films hitting the screens on Deepavali.
The team of Enemy has now surprised movie buffs by revealing that the movie, which has been certified U/A will release on Deepavali. Vinod Kumar, the producer of the project, tweeted, "#ENEMY has been censored U/A, and all set for a grand release in CINEMAS this DEEPAVALI." The film will now take on Rajinikanth-starrer Annaatthe and Silambarasan-starrer Maanaadu at the box office. While Annaatthe had announced its arrival earlier this year, the latter came up with its release plans on the last month.
The team also released a new poster along with the tweets posted by Arya and Vinod Kumar. Prakash Raj, Mamta Mohandas Mirnalini Ravi, Thambi Ramaiah, John Vijay and Karunakaran will be seen playing crucial roles in the film which has songs by Thaman and background score by Sam CS.
Director Anand had recently posted a tweet which provided a sneak peek into Sam's composing session. The makers had released two songs and a teaser earlier from the film, the shooting of which, was wrapped up a few months ago. Vishal and Arya are teaming up for the second time in the film after Bala's Avan Ivan.
