The teaser of Tamil star Suriya’s upcoming movie Vishwanath and Sons has dropped online, and is winning much love from audiences. Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju, who has been working on back-to-back Tamil films, plays the female lead. Suriya-Mamitha combination seems to have impressed fans, who also recall the star’s 2005 blockbuster movie Ghajini.
Vishwanath and Sons, helmed by Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri, depicts an age-gap romance between the leads. Suriya plays the titular Sanjay Vishwanath, and the fans were lavishing praise on the actor, and his evergreen looks. Fans also drew comparisons to his Sanjay Ramasamy role from the movie Ghajini, which also starred Asin. Comments on YouTube read: OG “Sanjay Ramasamy “ is back with new modern generation, Prime Suriya is back, and Suriya Comeback.

Suriya, whose last movies such as Kangua, had failed to click and fans are hoping that the Venky Atluri film will change the star’s fortunes for the better. Venky Atluri last helmed Lucky Baskhar, starring Dulquer Salman, which was a commercial success.
Mamitha Baiju too got positive responses as she plays yet another charming role, Maddy, on screen after Tamil film Dude and Premalu.
A particular sequence where the older man tells Maddy, who is 20 years younger to him, that boys her age would be appropriate for her and her response seems to have particularly impressed viewers. Some netizens also lauded Suriya for playing age-appropriate roles though concerns were also raised about how the plot would actually unfold.
GV Prakash Kumar’s score has also got a thumbs up from the netizens. Overall, the teaser has garnered positive responses from the audiences who are looking forward for the film’s release.
