Vivaha Avahanam out on OTT: Here's where to stream Niranj Maniyanpilla's social satire online

Vivaha Avahanam is a satirical romantic comedy film helmed by debutant Sajan Alummoottil. The lead role is played by Niranj Maniyanpilla who is the son of veteran Malayalam actor and producer Maniyanpilla Raju. The movie based on real events stars newcomer Nitaarah Nadhine in the female lead. Vivaha Avahanam was released last year in theatres and is now streaming on the OTT platform called HR OTT.

Apart from the lead cast, the film also features actors like Aju Varghese, Sudhi Koppa, Sabumon, Prashanth Alexander, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Rajeev Pillai, Balaji Sharma, Zhinz Shan, Franco, Smriti and Nandini. The story and screenplay are written by Nitaarah and Sangeet Senan, along with the director. 

What is the film about?

The film revolves around the young lovers Swati and Kuttu, who continue their relationship even after facing opposition from their families. With no hope of leading a life together, the lovers commit suicide. After their suicide, the families of the deceased face big troubles from the unhappy souls of Swati and Kuttu. In order to make their souls happy, the parents try to conduct their marriage through some superstitious rituals. The film conveys a message and also takes a dig at the conventional ways of society, religious practices, and caste superstitions. The film which comes with the tagline 'An Extraordinary Wedding' also deals with the present political atmosphere. Vivaha Avahanam adopts a narration style in which the story is told in three different segments, with different colour tones for each segment.

Sony CV and Pramod Gopakumar co-produced Vivaha Avahanam. Vishnu Prabhakar, who worked on Purusha Pretham and Aavasavyooham, handled the cinematography. Editing was done by Akhil A R and music by Rahul R Govinda.
