Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan has had a handful of releases in the first half of 2025, with films like Rekhachithram winning big at the box office. Anaswara’s latest film, Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, is also gearing up for its OTT release on Manorama Max on August 14, 2025. The film, with its quirky plot which revolves around a funeral and the hilarious performances of the lead cast, fetched positive reviews upon its theatrical run. Now, ahead of its digital release, let’s look at some of the reasons as to why you should watch Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, which definitely deserves more love and appreciation.
The film revolves around the events after the elderly grandmother of Anjali passes away and the family prepares for the funeral. But soon chaotic comedy unfolds as more people, from their community and the neighbourhood, get involved. Young filmmaker S. Vipin has penned and helmed the movie, which takes a hilarious route to tell the story even when it is about the grim topic of a funeral. With the right dose of comedy, chaos and heartfelt moments, Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal promises to keep you engaged throughout and make you smile.

Anaswara Rajan leads the film as Anjali who has to deal with overbearing parents, a toxic fiance and a unsolicited lover. The film allows her to showcase a myriad of emotions, particularly her comedy roles. Though a far cry from the world of Rekhachithram, Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal almost matches up to the earlier hit film, in terms of performance.

The outlandish characters of the film are brought to life by the talented supporting cast. While Siju Sunny is seen as Suhail, who obsessively follows Anjali, Joemon Jyothir is seen as Shakthi and Baiju Santhosh plays a Karayogam president. Notably all three actors were part of another fun Malayalam film Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, which also had Anaswara as one of the female leads. Azees Nedumangad and Mallika Sukumaran, who plays the grandmother, also convincingly pull off their characters
The film is set in a quaint Kerala village with thatched-roof houses, banana plantations and lush paddy fields. The greenery of the village and the naive villagers are all beautifully portrayed in the film. Cinematographer Rahim Aboobacker’s frames capture the serene beauty of the village. Ankit Menon's music and songs also add to the charm of the film.
