Latest Malayalam movies, Ronth and Vysanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, which were released this week, are both doing well in cinemas. As a result, the makers have made the decision to expand the number of screenings of these films across the state. Sources claim that night and evening shows are more popular, which is why they have been increased at several theatres throughout the state.

Shahi Kabir, the creator of some of the popular police dramas in Malayalam, including Officer on Duty and Nayattu, is back with another cop drama. Ronth is now being hailed as "one of Shahi Kabir's best works so far" and commended for its raw and skilfully written screenplay. According to Sacnilk, Ronth made over Rs 67 lakh at the box office on its first day of theatrical release.
Ronth focusses on CPO Dinnathan, who goes on a night patrol with a senior officer, GSI Yohannan. Dinnathan, who is an idealistic constable learns more about his job through the occurrences they come across during the night, but Yohannan also asks him to control his emotions. Their perceptions shift as they gain more insight into themselves, until a case challenges all they have learnt about one another. Dileesh Pothan and Roshan Mathew deliver convincing performances in this thriller.

This film explores the question of whether a funeral should honour the deceased's family's wishes or the community's practices. It is notable, though, and viewers are taken aback by how humorously filmmaker S Vipin explored it without too many gimmicks.
Anjali, the protagonist of Vysanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, is affected by her obsessive lover, her nervous parents, and her compulsive fiancé. Her life, her family, and those around them are all in turmoil as a result of her grandmother's sudden demise. In the film, Siju Sunny, Joemon Jyothir, Anaswara Rajan, and Azeez Nedumangad all have significant roles.
