The action-comedy drama, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the lead roles, is directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film revolves around Pandian, the son of a police official, who falls in love with a hearing-impaired girl called Kadambari. In exchange for love, Kadambari asks him to finish off a local thug responsible for her father's murder. The film earned a positive response for the lead cast's performances. It was also during the shooting of this film that Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan fell in love and eventually got married. The film also stars RJ Balaji, Radhika Sarathkumar, Parthiban and others.

Thani Oruvan - SunNXT

Thani Oruvan is a 2015 action thriller film directed by Mohan Raja, starring Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara in the lead roles, with Arvind Swamy playing the antagonist. The film is about how a powerful and influential scientist resorts to many wrongdoings to get richer, with a diligent police officer at the helm of nabbing him. A sequel for Thani Oruvan was announced, with actors Nayanthara and Jayam Ravi reprising their roles and Mohan Raja once again wielding the megaphone.

Araam - SunNXT

In Araam, Nayanthara plays a saree-clad district collector who has to orchestrate a plan in order to rescue a young girl who has fallen into a deep borewell. Directed by Gopi Naina, Nayanthara single-handedly shoulders a film on the efforts put by a collector to plan and execute a rescue mission while being under the spotlight of media and administration as a woman. Aramm won critical acclaim upon its release and also stars Ramachandran Durairaj and Sunu Lakshmi in supporting roles.

Yaaradi Nee Mohini - SunNXT

Yaaradi Nee Mohini is directed by Mithran Jawahar and stars Dhanush and Nayanthara in the lead roles, with Raghuvaran, Karunas, and Karthik Kumar playing the supporting characters The film is about how a man falls in love with his superior, only for her to turn him down when he proposes her. However, he soon realises that she is all set to marry his friend. It is a remake of the 2007 Telugu film, Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule.

Kolamavu Kokila

Kolamavu Kokila marks Nelson Dilipkumar's directorial debut and stars Nayanthara in the lead role, along with Yogi Babu, Saranya Ponvannan, VJ Jacqueline, R. S. Shivaji, Charles Vinoth, and others. The film is about how a lower-middle-class girl gets into the drug trafficking cartel in order to earn money to save her diagnosed mother. The film was a commercial success upon release and became one of the better-known black comedies in Tamil cinema.
