War 2: Amid Saiyaara’s success, YRF gears up to release Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR actioner’s trailer next week
YRF gears up with War 2 trailer release, teaser plays with Saiyaara in theatres. Mandala Murders hits Netflix next week as the studio balances theatrical and OTT strategies.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) is releasing a flood of titles in theatres and OTT. After the success of their most recent young romantic drama, Saiyaara, the production company is getting ready to release two new films: War 2, an action extravaganza starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, and the web series Mandala Murders, which will be available on Netflix.
CBFC clears War 2 trailer
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has approved the War 2 trailer. Bollywood Hungama reports that the film trailer received a U/A 16+ rating for certification on Friday, July 18, 2025. It has been confirmed that the trailer will run for two minutes and thirty-nine seconds and is supposedly set to be released next week by YRF.
Much anticipation has already built up for the release of the War 2 teaser on May 20, 2025. It is now playing in theatres with Saiyaara screenings.
Missed opportunity in trailer strategy
This promotional move was discussed by a trade expert on the entertainment portal, saying that it would have been much more fitting if the theatrical trailer for War 2 had been accompanied by Saiyaara prints instead of the teaser. Many viewers would have seen the War 2 trailer in its entirety on the big screen if Saiyaara had been released at the same time. Additionally, it would have been in keeping with YRF tradition. This reflects the method they traditionally used to release promotional materials for many of their upcoming movies. Regardless, the excitement surrounding War 2 is palpable.
The ever-expanding Spy Universe continues with the release of War 2 by YRF and is Ayan Mukerji's first feature film under the brand. The film features a "massy face-off" between the characters played by Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. Fans have praised Kiara Advani, who plays the lead female character, for her bikini-clad look in the trailer.
War 2 set for August 14 release
The film's premiere is set on August 14, 2025, just in time for the holiday weekend of Independence Day. An additional installment in the YRF Spy Universe, Alpha, with Sharvari and Alia Bhatt, is set to premiere on Christmas later this year.
Saiyaara is doing well at the box office, Mandala Murders will be available on Netflix next week, and War 2 is hitting its peak promotional period, so it's apparent that YRF is pushing hard in the theatre and online.
