Weapon is an upcoming superhuman film starring actors Sathyaraj and Vasanth Ravi in the lead roles. The film is directed by Guhan Seniappan and is all set to hit big screens on June 7. As we wait for the film's release, let’s get to know more about the film.

Release date

Weapon will release in theatres on June 7. It will compete at the box office with Vidaarth and Vani Bhojan-starrer Anjamai and veteran actor Mohan’s comeback, Haraa. Weapon will mark the first time Sathyaraj and Vasanth Ravi will be collaborating and will be the second release of the year after Pon Ondru Kanden. Sathyaraj was earlier seen in Singapore Saloon, which released earlier this year.

The makers released the trailer of the film recently. It shows how a department of people is planning to assassinate a man who is considered normal and has defeated about 35 gangs with no lives to spare. As we are hinted that Sathyaraj possesses superhuman qualities, Weapon promise immense action blocks.

Plot

The story of Weapon revolves around known YouTuber Agni, who is famed for showcasing superhumans. As he discovers suspicious footage of a boy surviving a truck accident, it leads him into an investigation, resulting in a clash with a powerful secret society. This leaves him to realise that he has a part of his superhuman identity, leading to a confrontation with his father.

Cast and crew

The cast of Weapon includes Sathyaraj, Vasanth Ravi, Rajiv Menon, Tanya Hope, Rajeev Pillai, Yashika Aannand, Mime Gopi, Kaniha, Gajaraj, Syed Subhan, Baradwaj Rangan, Velu Prabhakaran, Maya Krishnan, Shiyas Kareem, Benito Franklin, Raghu Esakki and others. The music has been scored by Ghibran, with filmmaker Guhan Senniappan wielding the megaphone. Produced by M S Manzoor under Million Studio, the film was shot by cinematographer Prabhu Raghav and edited by Gopi Krishna.

Censor and runtime

The film has a runtime of two hours and has been censored U/A by the Censor Board.
