The news came as a surprise just 3 months after the 8-episode Season 1 premiered. When to watch Wednesday Season 2 on Netflix

The Season 2 of Wednesday series has been divided into two parts by Netflix. While the first part (Episodes 1- 4) will is scheduled for August 6 release, the second part (Episode 5 -8) is scheduled for September 3, 2025 release.

1. New characters and relationships

The horror series is expanding with the introduction of Wednesday Addams grandmother Hester Frump's introduction in the second season. This isn't just about adding new cast members, rather it's a stratagic move to create more grave situations and conflicts that will challenge Wednesday. Season 2 promises to explore her family history and the roots of her unique abilities.

2. Steve Buscemi is replacing Principal Weems

In Season 1 we saw Principal Larissa Weems was the headmistress of Nevermore Academy. She was a shapeshifter who was trying to expose the main villain Marilyn Thornhil, but later she kills Weems, and yet some fans hoped she would return. However, actress Gwendoline Christie confirmed that her character is not returning, instead Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi) will be the new headmaster of the school.

3. The villain Marilyn Thornhill might return

Marilyn Thornhill, the botany teacher at Nevermore Academy, has been revealed as the main antagonist Laurel Gates in the Season 1. Her plan was to resurrect her evil ancestor Joseph Crackstone, and she was successful in her mission. But Wednesday kills Crackstone, making Laurel avenge his death but she got attacked by bees. Laurel's final fate was not confirmed in Season 1, leaving doors open for a possible return of Marilyn Thornhill.

4. The Season 2 promises to be more horrific

In recent interviews, Jenna Ortega revealed that any type of romantic plot for Wednesday Addams has been ditched in the upcoming season, instead the show will lean onto more horror events. Show creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough have also shared same insights with Tom's Guide portal, promising for more psychological thrills, suspense, danger, and high-stake events.

5. Pugsley's journey in Season 2

Pugsley Addams arrival at the Nevermore Academy marks a significant turning point in his life, forcing him to navigate a completely different world from his usual one. The new environment brings Pugsley new challenges and opportunity of stepping out from his sister Wednesday Addams shadow and discoveting who actually he is. Pugsley will have to confront his anxieties and insecurities while trying to fit in.
