In the last one year, Raj B Shetty made two films, acted in two others and spent a good amount of time promoting those he produced or directed. It's time for a break, he reckons.
In his career so far, actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty has never been as busy as he’s been in the last several months. First, he made two back-to-back films, Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye and Toby, and then got busy with the promotions of the latter, which released first. He juggled that along with his acting commitment on composer Arjun Janya’s directorial debut 45, in which he is working with Shivarajkumar and Upendra and then had the promotions of Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye, which ends now with the film in theatres. Raj is desperate for a break (from work), he’s had enough of talking about his work and wants to run away from it all for a while to come back all charged up for new challenges.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Raj had said that his happy space is when he is doing nothing and just relaxing back home in Mangaluru with his dogs. Speaking to a Kannada digital channel, Raj said that he’s been so busy that it stopped being enjoyable and that he’s desperately seeking some relaxation for the body and mind. In the last several months, Raj has been doing a lot of talking, which he says is his responsibility to get his films across to as many people as possible.
As much as he wants to run away, it is unlikely that Raj will get much of a break. The actor was recently announced as a new cast member in the Malayalam film Turbo, led by megastar Mammootty, which is already on floors. He also has some writing duties, and is expected to script two films that will mark the directorial debuts of two of his team members. Raj will not act in either of these films, but they will be made by his banner, Lighter Buddha Films.
