In an ideal world, Raj B Shetty would be all set to head home to Mangaluru as soon as his next film releases, and remain cut-off from most of humanity for the foreseeable future, until such time that he returns to work. In fact, he did that after Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana and it took a while to jump headlong into the business of cinema again. Once he did, he not only made two films back-to-back, Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye and Toby, but he also worked on two others in the capacity of actor only, Rudhiram and 45. While he has completed Rudhiram, 45 is on schedule break and Raj still has to complete some of his portions for Arjun Janya’s directorial debut. What’s his plan after that?
“I would love to just be home and relax with my dogs, but for now, I think I want to concentrate on my production house. There are a couple of projects in the pipeline that will facilitate the directorial debuts of two of my friends. I have to be there for them. One of the projects I have already written the script and the other is in the works. I am not acting in either of these films, but around the same time, I want to do another movie,” Raj tells us, adding, “The immediate focus is on my production house and then, I need to relax.”
Toby, which is his next film, is set to release in theatres tomorrow. The team was planning a grand opening with a celeb preview and paid premieres as well, but delays in the satellite link of the content – it was being uploaded only on Thursday morning – meant that there would not be any early shows. In fact, as of 3 pm on August 24, several multiplexes in Bengaluru had not listed shows before 12 noon, as they had not received the content. The film is being distributed by KVN Productions.
