Bollywood actress Yami Gautam and her filmmaker husband, Aditya Dhar, embraced parenthood in 2024. They were blessed with a baby boy on May 10 last year. The couple named their son, Vedavid. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Yami revealed why she feels the need to protect her son from the media glare. For those who are unaware, the actress doesn't frequently post photos of her little one on social media.
Yami Gautam told the tabloid that protecting her son Vedavid's childhood is of 'utmost importance' to her. The actress mentioned that she and Aditya are completely committed to doing the same.
"As actors, we give leeway to the media, but that doesn’t extend to our kids. The media has the liberty of writing what they can, about how they feel about a film, even about an actor’s personal life. We understand it’s their job. But you cannot battle a parent," she said. Yami added that she will go 'all out to protect' her kid and feels she has the right to do that.
"I would love for you to meet him and bless him. But it’s a Pandora’s box. If I open it, there is no looking back. Also, it has a strong psychological impact on a kid," the Dhoom Dhaam star shared.
Yami and Aditya welcomed their first child on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritya last year. Sharing the good news with their fans and followers, Dhar penned a note on his official Instagram account.
"As we embark on this beautiful journey of parenthood, we eagerly anticipate the bright future that awaits our son. With every milestone he achieves, we are filled with the hope and belief that he will grow to become a beacon of pride for our entire family as well as our beloved nation (sic)," a portion of the note read.
On the work front, Yami is awaiting the release of her Netflix film, Dhoom Dhaam. She will be seen alongside Pratik Gandhi in the film.
