Hemanth M Rao feels that exploring the 'what if' portion of a film's conventional conclusion is a 'difficult thing' for a writer. "There's always that question of 'what happens next' after a film ends and that portion is very exciting for me," he said while in conversation with his 'SSE' colleagues Rakshit Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth and Chaithra J Achar.
"Not a lot of people venture into that 'what can happen after' area so, for me, that was a very interesting space and it is a very difficult thing to explore as a writer and director because you are dealing with slightly complex emotions," he added in the same chat ahead of the release of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B.
Turns out, Side B is actually the fulcrum or the heart of the two-part film for Hemanth Rao, who does not shy away from confessing that Side A is the offshoot of his "main" desire to make the second part. "I won't say Side A is easy to write but compared to Side B, it was easy," adds Hemanth, as he draws an affirmative from Rakshit Shetty from across the table.
"I understand. Because, ultimately, Side A is a story whereas Side B is the 'mind travel' of that character (Manu). In Side A, you would follow the emotions of both Manu and Priya but in Side B, along with those emotions, his thought process is also quite complicated," said Rakshit Shetty in the same vein to take the conversation forward.

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, of course, will take the narrative forward from where the first instalment ended as it attempts to unravel how Manu adjusts to his new reality. There's evidently a lot of grunge and traces of crime in his world now but with the entering of Surabhi (Chaithra Achar) in his life, there might be a silver lining after all. Admirers of the first film are raring to see how this unique love story of Manu and Priya fares after all, especially to find out whether there's a happy ending in the offing.
