Karan Johar might be known for his skills of turning anything into a movie, but there is one thing that he would not want to touch. That happens to be the chats inside his WhatsApp groups. The filmmaker popularly has various WhatsApp groups where Bollywood celebrities turn critics, but the filmmaker draws a line when it comes to turning that into a movie. In fact, he would choose moving to London rather than turning those messages into a movie. Here's everything he said...
Karan Johar was a guest on Barkha Dutt's podcast, and the filmmaker got an interesting question thrown at him - whether his WhatsApp chats can turn into a film. On hearing the request to turn his WhatsApp group messages into a movie, Karan Johar had a rather shocked expression. He questioned everything in life, as he contemplated the ask. The filmmaker's silence spoke loud, till he broke his silence to say, "If anyone ever got access to those WhatsApp groups about me and many of my friends from the fraternity, we'll have to move to London." He added that they would not be able to continue living in Mumbai, sharing, "There's complete honest, candid and sometimes very bitchy analysis of what's going on. We're fashion critics, we're movie critics, we're critics of everything on that group. Everyone has an opinion, and none of us can ever put those opinions out." He lets out a little laugh as he adds, "Unfortunately, that's our fundamental right - of freedom of speech - that we can only contain to our WhatsApp group and can never let it out. Those conversations are very private."
Karan Johar is currently making headlines for two projects, both featuring Kartik Aaryan as the male lead. Despite their Dostana 2 fallout, the two got together for two movies. The first movie titled Nagzilla is where Kartik turns into a snake (much like the name suggests). The actor is now working on their next collaboration film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The movie brings Kartik back with his Pati Patni Aur Woh co-star Ananya Panday.
Karan Johar is back as a TV host, this time for the Indian version of The Traitors. The show hosts contestants like Raj Kundra, Lakshmi Manchu, Sahil Salathia, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Raftaar, Elnaaz Norouzi, Jannat Zubair and Uorfi Javed, among others.
