March 8 marks International Women's Day, a global celebration recognizing the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide. It also serves as a call to action for advancing gender equality. In the realm of K-pop, predominantly dominated by male idols who have attained significant success, some female artists have proven themselves to be exceptional and possess all the qualities required to be an idol.

While every group may have individuals skilled in specific areas, there are a select few who excel in all facets, including singing, dancing, rapping, songwriting, and even acting. Let's spotlight the female K-pop idols who epitomize versatility and talent across the board.

Soyeon

Jeon So Yeon, a leader, rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer under CUBE Entertainment's girl group (G)I-DLE, initially gained recognition through her appearance on the survival show 'Produce 101'. Despite her popularity, she ranked 20 on the last episode and did not join the winning girl group, 'I.O.I'. Nevertheless, she made her debut and has since been credited with the lyrics, music production, and arrangement for most of (G)I-DLE's songs. Additionally, she has written and produced songs for other artists, as evidenced by her presence in the Korea Music Copyright Association's (KOMCA) database.

BoA

Kwon Bo Ah is a K-pop icon celebrated for her mesmerizing dance performances, which have become a hallmark of her career. Discovered by SM Entertainment at the age of 11, BoA quickly rose to fame with her exceptional talent and stage presence. Throughout her illustrious career, she has not only conquered the K-pop scene but also ventured into Hollywood, earning her first starring role in the 2013 film "Make Your Move."

Nayeon

Im Na-yeon, primarily a singer, gained prominence as a member of the highly acclaimed girl group TWICE, formed by JYP Entertainment through the reality television show 'Sixteen'. However, before her debut, she was initially cast as a member of '6mix', a JYP girl group project that never came to fruition. Na-yeon also appeared in various television advertisements and featured in several music videos of her label mates as well. Additionally, she even made a cameo appearance in the second episode of KBS2's 2012 Korean drama "Dream High 2".

Jennie

Also known as Jennie Ruby Jane and a member of the renowned group BLACKPINK, she was primarily acknowledged as the rapper and visual of the group but also someone who can dance. However, her recent solo endeavour, 'Slow Motion,' has demonstrated to all that she possesses the ability to sing and compose songs as well. Additionally, she made her acting debut in the HBO television series "The Idol," which was created by and starred the Canadian singer, the Weeknd.

Kang Seul-gi is a singer and dancer from the group Red Velvet and is also part of its sub-unit 'Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi', and the supergroup 'Got the Beat'. From performance to visual media, Seulgi is an all-rounder artist. She and her group had made a surprise appearance on the last episode of the popular K-drama "Descendants of the Sun" which got fans laughing.

Yeji

Hwang Yeji, a rapper, dancer, and singer under JYP Entertainment, rose to stardom as the leader of the girl group ITZY. As a trainee, she showcased her talents on various reality shows like "The Fan", "Stray Kids the Series", "How Do You Play" and more which garnered her even more attention from the public.
