On Women's Day, BLACKPINK’s Jennie unveiled her highly-anticipated collaboration track, "Slow Motion," with Matt Champion on Friday, March 8. The music video, marked by its simplicity, showcases a captivating interplay of light and shadow set against a backdrop of soft melodies.

Their duet, filled with heartfelt lyrics and impressive vocals, got fans, especially BLACKPINK fandom called Blinks worldwide go gaga.

About the collab:

Matt Champion is a member of the American hip-hop boy band BROCKHAMPTON. While many believe Jennie met Matt during the Coachella 2023, however, on Instagram, Jennie said, "Can’t believe this beautiful song is finally out. This one's close to my heart and I'm so excited to share its message with you all. Matt and I worked on this song 3 years ago and I hope you guys enjoy it as we share a piece of ourselves".

ODD ATELIER:

This single marks Jennie's first music release as an independent artist at her agency, ODD ATELIER. The South Korean rapper made headlines by launching her label on December 23, 2023.

The Idol also hinted at plans to release a full-length solo album in 2024, teasing fans with the promise of music that truly embodies her unique style and essence. She shared, "I'm creating a song that is quintessentially Jennie – something distinctively mine."

BLACKPINK's Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have extended their contract with YG Entertainment exclusively for group activities. Jennie made it clear that while she valued the 7-year partnership with YG and desired to continue group activities with the agency. 

"I wanted to do group activities with the company I had been with for seven years, but I wanted to be freer and more comfortable in my activities, so I carefully founded an OA company. I will work with the crew I have been with for a long time. I wanted to do all my activities freely," she said.
