The animated sci-fi adventure series WondLa, based on the New York Times bestseller The Search for WondLa by Tony DiTerlizzi, is coming to Apple TV+. A 7-episode first season will drop on the streamer on June 28. WondLa features a voice cast including Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher, Jeanine Mason, Brad Garett, Gary Anthony Williams, Chiké Okonkwo, D.C. Douglas and Alan Tudyk.

WondLa revolves around around Eva (Jeanine Mason), a teenager, who has lived all her life in a state-of-the-art underground bunker, under the care of her robot caretaker Muthr (Teri Hatcher), because “the earth was sick and needed time to heal”. On her 16th birthday, an attack on the bunker forces Eva to head to the surface, where she hopes to find other humans.

What she sees, though, is a planet inhabited by aliens and covered with otherworldly fauna, with no other humans. In fact, she is told that she is the last of her kind. But is she? On Orbona, as earth is called now, Eva meets Otto, a lovable giant waterbear (Brad Garrett) and an alien called Rovender, with whose help she sets off on a quest to find humans and her true destiny.

WondLa is the latest offering for kids from Apple TV+, following the second season of the animated series Frog and Toad. Up next is TV adaptation of the cult classic Time Bandits starring F.R.I.E.N.D.S star Lisa Kudrow, which will stream from July 24. And then, on August 9 comes Yo Gabba Gabbaland!

Meanwhile, Apple TV+’s June slate also includes the Jake Gyllanhaal-led Presumed Innocent, in which he plays an advocate who becomes the primary suspect in the death of the woman he was having an affair with. Presumed Innocent drops on June 12. Then, on June 26, Teri Hatcher’s Desperate Housewives co-star Eva Longoria gets to lead a series called Land of Women , in which she plays a woman on the run from the men her husband owes money to.
