It was initially reported that Ye Ali singer Zubeen Garg died in a scuba diving accident, but later, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that he died while swimming in Singapore without wearing a life jacket. He further revealed that the lifeguards asked Zubeen Garg to wear the safety gear. His death left the industry, fans, and his family members shocked. Now, a report mentioned that Zubeen will make his Bollywood debut as director and actor posthumously in a film, also starring Victor Banerjee.
Bollywood Hungama reported that Zubeen Garg will make his Bollywood debut as an actor and a director posthumously in a film titled Chakra. It is a political thriller. Apart from directing, Zubeen, who passed away suddenly last week, also played one of the lead roles in the film.
Veteran Bengali actor Victor Bannerjee, who has lost a dear friend, said, “I just completed a film with Zubeen where he is also my co-star. It will be released next month. I enjoyed watching him act as much as the world enjoys him singing. Zubeen was a great son of our soil.”
Victor also revealed that Zubeen and he were friends. “I shall miss him. What a waste of greatness! The heavens are intoxicated with his charm now. May he stay singing in peace.”

"The Government of Assam, with deep sorrow, informs that the mortal remains of Shri Zubeen Garg, an artist larger than life, a cultural icon, filmmaker, and the eternal heartthrob of millions, will be kept at Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex (Sarusajai Stadium) tomorrow, September 21, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, for friends, followers, and admirers to pay their last respects," read the official tweet.

"All are requested to extend their cooperation in ensuring that the final journey of Assam’s beloved son is conducted with dignity and becomes a farewell to be remembered for all time," it concluded.
Garg primarily worked in Assamese. However, his talent also shone in Bengali, Hindi films, and music. He had performed in over 40 languages and dialects, including Bishnupriya Manipuri, Adi, Boro, English, Goalpariya, Kannada, Karbi, Khasi, Malayalam, Marathi, Mising, Nepali, Odia, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Tiwa.
