Yami Gautam calls Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 'brilliant'; Says, 'Wished I was a guy' after reading the script
Yami Gautam praised the script of her husband and filmmaker Aditya Dhar's directorial Dhurandhar, in an interview before the release of the film. She called it brilliant and amazing.

Dhurandhar is helmed by Uri: The Surgical Strike director, Aditya Dhar. Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R. Madhavan, the film is ablockbuster of 2025. While the film has been getting continuous love and attention, Aditya's wife and actress Yami opened up about Dhurandhar before the release during an interview.

Before the release of Dhurandhar, Yami Gautam spoke to News18 Showsha about the film and shared how she wanted to be a guy after reading the script. When I read his next script, I told him that it was one of those rare moments when I wished I was a guy. The script is so brilliant. It’s such an amazing world," she shared.
She also said that she and Aditya keep their personal and professional lives separate. “Regardless, I don’t have that expectation. We respect that professional line. I don’t think that line should be blurred. We’re very clear about it," she stated.
Yami Gautam said that if he feels that someone else is more suitable for the character, then she would completely agree to it, adding that this understanding was there between them from the beginning. “If he feels that somebody else is a better fit for a part that he’s writing, I would be absolutely fine with it. This understanding was there since the very beginning," she added.
Karan Johar praises Dhurandhar
During the book launch of Dining With Stars by Anupama Chopra, Karan Johar praised Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar. He said, “I have to say this, I loved Dhurandhar. I was blown away by the craft, blown away by the use of music, I was swept by the performances, and I was absorbed by the world Dhurandhar has created." He also mentioned that it made him question his ability as a filmmaker, which is a good thing for him, as a filmmaker, and he looks at that as a positive lens.
Speaking about the plot of Dhurandhar, the spy thriller is about an Indian RAW agent (Ranveer Singh) going deep undercover in Pakistan's Lyari underworld to dismantle terror networks, inspired by events like the 1999 IC-814 Kandahar hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.
