Kannada film fans had much to be merry about on July 12. There was a lot of news about Century Star Shivarajkumar’s upcoming slate of films, news that a teaser of Kiccha Sudeep’s Max was only days away, and then came Rocking Star Yash. Yes, the actor was seen in public after what seemed ages, as he and his wife Radhika Pandit made their way to the Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant wedding in Mumbai. And what became the talking point was his new hairdo.
Yes, the long locks that he’s been sporting for 6 years, since KGF: Chapter 1, and the days of a man bun are over for Yash. It was speculated that the actor, who is working on his next, Toxic, would sport a different look than how he was seen in KGF, although the silhouette of Yash on the title poster still had him with a thick luscious beard.
The hair was a big mystery, and during his rare public appearances, Yash often kept it hidden under a bandana or beanie. The fact that he chose to let the whole world see his new stylish hairdo could only mean one thing, reckoned netizens – a Toxic update is on the way. They also had a field day about the actor’s mullet becoming the most trending hairdo in India and how he gets the whole nation to take note with just a haircut.
Some even saw the funny side to this, commenting that the Kannada Film Industry is down to celebrating a hairdo as a movie update. All said and done, Yash’s new look has fans and movie lovers excited about his next, which, barring the title and release date reveal in December last year, has been shrouded in mystery. Produced by KVN Productions, Toxic has not had a single official update since then, despite repeated requests from fans.
In fact, fans are not even sure if they’ve begun shooting for the film that is set to be in theatres on April 10 next year, as there’s been no news of a muhurtha. There have, however, been multiple reports citing ‘sources’ that the shoot is underway, that the team is heading to London shortly for a long schedule and, of course, the names of the ladies who are supposedly acting with Yash.
