Shweta Basu Prasad, known for her popular and award-winning performances in films such as Makdee, Iqbal and Serious Men, is yet again on the map, making all the noises with her recent OTT project. Shweta was recently seen in the short film, Yatri Kripya Dhyan De, with Shaheer Sheikh.
The actor has been garnering immense appreciation amongst fans and critics alike. Her chemistry with Shaheer, who made his short film debut with Yatri Kripya Dhyan De , is also being lauded as the two complement each other well on the screen. Shaheer has been winning the hearts of the audience with his television shows and he has proven his calibre, yet again with this short film.
A lot of praises are coming Shweta's way as her portrayal of Nandita is very convincing. Her eyes and expressions make this road trip an exciting journey with a surprise twist at the end that comes absolutely unexpected. Shweta issued a statement saying she is grateful for all the love they have been receiving from the audience. She also said she was completely impressed by the film and her character when she heard it for the first time. "What took me by surprise is how they could pack so much thrill, excitement, quirk, and an unpredictable ending, and that too with just two characters and a car. It’s such a compelling story, kudos to the writer, director, cinematographer who made every moment count," she said.
She thanked the streaming platform for taking the short films to audiences across the globe. She also expressed her gratitude towards fans and audiences for their good wishes. "Their proposition of enabling good short features far and wide to audiences worldwide has my full support. They’ve created a thriving platform to encourage talent,” she added.
The short film Yatri Kripya Dhyan De is the story of Sumit (played by Shaheer Sheikh), a charming man in his 30s, who is driving home in his new car. On the way, he offers a lift to Nandita (played by Shweta Basu Prasad), who is stranded on the hill road as her car breaks down. They get talking in the car and Nandita tells him the story about her haunted house. Replete with twists and turns, what unfolds is a series of horrific and surprising events.
Yatri Kripya Dhyaan De is now streaming for free on Amazon miniTV within the Amazon shopping app.
