It was announced a week ago that the makers of Yennanga Sir Unga Sattam opted to have a direct-to-OTT release for the film. Prabhu Jeyaram wielded the megaphone for the movie, the first look of which was unveiled by Jayam Ravi a couple of months ago.

Billed as a socio-political satire, the film's plot revolves around a youngster from scheduled caste who aspires to become a priest. The host of challenges and insults he face forms the rest of the story. RS Karthik of Peechankai fame plays the lead in the project which has Rohini, Bagavathi Perumal and Junior Balaiah among others essaying pivotal roles.

A month ago, Arya unveiled its trailer which touched upon a slew of social issues prevailing in the society and received appreciation from movie buffs. Many film lovers felt that the trailer was released at the right time as it threw light on the current scenario in Tamil Nadu with regard to Dalit priests being appointed in temples recently.

In an earlier chat with OTTplay, Prabhu had said that the movie, produced by Sudhan Sundaram and G Jayaram under the banner of Passion Studios, will have 12 artists playing dual roles in it. The making and presentation of the film, according to him, will remind the audience of K Balachander’s popular drama Oru Veedu Iru Vaasal

The movie is all set for a premiere on SonyLIV on October 29. Arunkrishna Radhakrishnan has cranked the camera for Yennanga Sir Unga Sattam which has music composed by Guna Balasubramanian. Prakash Karunanithi has edited the film which features art direction by Teejay.

The makers ween initially keen on having a theatrical release, but they changed their plans owing to the reception for digital releases. Prabhu had said, "The subject’s relevance in the current times made us decide to go the OTT way."
