Young hero's latest Telugu release clocks 150 million views on OTT, deets inside

Ashwin Babu is the younger brother of the popular director and anchor, Ohmkar. He has been trying hard to make a name for himself for the last five years or so. Hidimbha is one film that Ashwin Babu pinned a lot of hopes on. He promoted the film from the day its teaser was launched. 

Nandita Swetha turned cop for the first time in her career with Hidimbha, which had a unique storyline and was directed by Anil Kanneganti. Hidimbha was released on July 20, 2023, and opened to a decent talk. But as there was no star value and proper post-release promotions, the film flopped. 

We at OTTplay have already reported that the streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Aha. The film started streaming on Aha on August 10, 2023, and has been getting a solid response. The team of Aha has now released a note stating that the film has clocked 150 million minutes to date. This is a huge number considering the popularity of Ahswin Babu.

The film's success would have taken him to the next level and made him a bankable actor but that did not happen. Well, the OTT release of the film has saved him a bit as it is going super strong on Aha now. The makers inked a decent deal with Aha and made profits before the release. 

Hidimbha is about the man-eating clan and Ashwin Babu played one of them in the film. Makarand Deshpande played the main villain in this film which was bankrolled by Sreedhar Gangapatnam under SVK Cinemas in collaboration with Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments.
