Actors who complete a decade in Bollywood this year
The year was 2012, when Bollywood scenes burst out with several actors entering the world of showbiz as actors. Many of them have become hot favourites of the masses and have established themselves as the leading actors of Bollywood. Several actors, namely Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Arjun Kapoor, Diana Penty, Ileana D'Cruz, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, and Yami Gautam, made their Bollywood debut in the year 2012.
Which means, these actors have completed or are completing a decade in the Hindi film industry. Let's take a look at the illustrous journey of these actors in Bollywood in detail.

In Karan Johar's teen drama Student of the Year, Alia Bhatt had her first leading role (2012). The actor gained a name for herself in the road drama Highway (2014), where she played an abduction victim and went on to star in several films, including the romances 2 States (2014), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017); and the coming-of-age drama Dear Zindagi (2016).
Bhatt received praise for her roles in the crime drama Udta Punjab (2016), the thriller Raazi (2018), and the musical drama Gully Boy (2019), in which she played the temperamental girlfriend of an aspiring rapper.
She received recognition this year for her performance as the titular character in Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Arjun Kapoor made his acting debut in the superhit romance Ishaqzaade (2012) and has since been in some successful films, including Gunday (2014), 2 States (2014), Ki & Ka (2016), and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (2021).
Ayushmann Khurrana made his cinematic debut in 2012 with the romantic comedy Vicky Donor, for which he won multiple Best Male Debut honours for his role as a sperm donor. After a brief setback, he starred in the commercially and critically successful Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) and went on to star in several box-office hits, including the comedy-dramas Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), Badhaai Ho (2018), Dream Girl (2019), and Bala (2019); the thriller Andhadhun (2018); and the crime drama Article 15 (2019).
Khurrana earned numerous prizes for his roles as a blind musician in Andhadhun and an honest cop in Article 15, including the National Film Award for Best Actor for the former.
Diana Penty made her acting debut in the romantic comedy Cocktail, released in 2012. Her performance in the film was praised, and she was nominated for some awards.
Following Cocktail, Penty starred as a free-spirited runaway bride in the comedy film Happy Bhag Jayegi, for which she received critical acclaim and the film became a commercial hit. She then starred in Lucknow Central (2017), Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018), and Shiddat, a romantic drama.
Ileana D'Cruz expanded to Hindi cinema in 2012 with Anurag Basu's comedy-drama Barfi! after establishing herself as a leading female actor in Telugu cinema. She has since starred in films such as Main Tera Hero (2014), Rustom (2016), and Raid (2018).
Sidharth Malhotra made his acting debut in Karan Johar's teen drama Student of the Year (2012), for which he was nominated for a Best Debut award.
Malhotra went on to star in films like Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Ek Villain (2014), and Kapoor & Sons (2016), all of which were commercially successful. Following a professional setback, he rose to prominence as Vikram Batra in the well-viewed war film Shershaah (2021).
Varun Dhawan first acted in Karan Johar's teen drama Student of the Year in 2012. With leading roles in the romantic comedies Main Tera Hero (2014), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), as well as the action comedies Dilwale (2015), Dishoom (2016), and Judwaa 2 (2017), the dance film ABCD 2 (2015), and the drama Sui Dhaaga (2017), he rose to prominence.
For his roles as an avenger in the thriller Badlapur (2015) and an aimless man dealing with loss in the drama October (2018), Dhawan got accolades and nominations. Following that, he starred in three critical and commercial flops, which resulted in a setback.
Yami Gautam's critically lauded Hindi cinema debut role in the critically and commercially successful satirical rom-com Vicky Donor (2012) brought her broader popularity and fame when she appeared in various TV shows and advertisements.
With the exception of the thriller Badlapur (2015), Gautam's highest-grossing films, including the vengeance drama Kaabil (2017), the action war picture Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), and the satire comedy Bala (2019), she has maintained and garnered great critical and economic success.
