Bollywood celebrities who said no to popular Hollywood works
The film industry has seen several actors cut across borders to earn a name for themselves both within the country and even across international borders. Bollywood has witnessed several instances where its stars have won hearts of international audiences as well after bagging a role in Hollywood productions. Hrithik Roshan - Pink Panther 2
In 2009, Harald Zwart released the comedy mystery The Pink Panther 2. Hrithik Roshan, the Bollywood superstar along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were offered the film. Though Aishwarya was featured in the released film, Hrithik had to decline the offer due to his prior commitments.
Irrfan Khan - Interstellar
Irrfan was a very popular name in Hollywood. The actor had featured in some iconic Hollywood films like The Amazing Spider-Man, Slumdog Millionaire, Life Of Pi and Inferno amongst others. But the actor is reported to have declined Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar due to his busy schedule for his films D-Day and Lunch Box.
Shah Rukh Khan - Slumdog Millionaire
Shah Rukh Khan, The King Khan of Bollywood was offered the Oscar award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. The actor is reported to have turned down the offer believing he did not suit the part. The role was later played by Anil Kapoor in the film.
Deepika Padukone - Fast & Furious 7
Deepika was first offered a role in the very famous Hollywood franchise movie Fast and Furious. The actress however declined the offer due to her busy work schedule and prior commitments in Bollywood. She then made her Hollywood debut with XXX: The Return Of The Xander, alongside Vin Diesel.
Ronit Roy- Zero Dark Thirty
Ronit Roy is one of the finest actors in Bollywood. The actor is reported to have received an offer to play a role in the Oscar-award-winning movie Zero Dark Thirty. However, Ronit did not accept the offer as he was already busy with his commitment for the Karan Johar-directed film Student of the Year.
Priyanka Chopra before making her debut with Quantico was offered a role in the 2011 released film Immortal. The actor had turned down the offer due to her prior commitments for the film 7 Khoon Maaf. The part then was played by Frieda Pinto.
