Kareena Kapoor Khan was born on 21 September 1980 in Bombay to Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Kareena hails from a film background, with her great-grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor making his entry into the world of cinema with the 1928 film Do Dhari Talwar. She has an elder sister named Karisma Kapoor who is also a Bollywood actor. Her father Randhir Kapoor is also an actor who made his debut with the 1971 movie Kal Aaj Aur Kal
Kareena Kapoor’s extended family
Kareena’s father is the brother of late actor Rishi Kapoor which makes Neetu Kapoor her aunt and actor Ranbir Kapoor her cousin.

Kareena attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and later went to Welham Girls' School in Dehradun for her high school education. After graduating from school, she studied commerce for two years at Mitibai College in Mumbai. She even registered for a Law Course at Government Law College, Mumbai but developed a passion for acting during her first year and dropped out of college.
Kareena Kapoor’s acting debut
The actor was training under Kishore Namit Kapoor at an institute in Mumbai when she received her first acting gig for a lead role in Rakesh Roshan's Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai. She later abandoned the film after a few days into shooting due to some creative conflicts. The actress then made her debut with J. P. Dutta's 2000 film, Refugee, alongside Abhishek Bachchan.
Kareena Kapoor’s personal life
Kareena is married to actor Saif Ali Khan. The duo got married in a private ceremony in 2012 amongst friends and family. They started dating after they met on the sets of the 2008 movie, Tashan.
The couple welcomed their first child Taimur Ali Khan in 2016, followed by the birth of their second child, Jehangir Ali Khan in 2021.
Kareena Kapoor’s other ventures
Kareena is the first Indian actress to have launched her own line of clothing for which she had partnered with Globus stores. She later started her makeup line with Lakme Cosmetics in 2018.

Kareena Kapoor got associated with the United Nations Children's Fund in 2014 while advocating for the education of girls and increasing quality-based education in the country.
